My Story

Chris Nelson was born & raised in Clinton, NC and now resides in the Loris, SC. His southern upbringing & deep roots in classic country music, combined with his ambitions to learn instrumental classical & jazz music, collided in 2018 when he performed as a vocalist for the first time. He began mixing his love for traditional country music with his ability to play the saxophone & guitar. The result was the creation of original songs with a unique traditional country-soul mixture that immediately caught the attention of local venues and fans. He has averaged 200+ performances per year since 2020.

Chris has performed on The Nutril Seltzer Stage at The Bowery for The Carolina Country Music Festival for the past two years. Chris has opened for artists like Craig Campbell, Frank Ray, performed for

the Pre-Party for the Brooks and Dunn show on the Steel hands stage last year and more

Chris was  invited in June 2024 to record with Dave Fowler and Kent Wells at Dolly Parton's studio on music row in downtown Nashville, TN and also recently signed a record deal with Hwy One Records and will also be working with their booking & PR team at Murray Town Entertainment. His team at the label, in collaboration with Dolly's studio and team are eagerly awaiting the release of his first full length album which is set to be released in the fall of 2024.

Chris is; a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, ASCAP Published Songwriter, member of the International Singer-Songwriter Association , The Carolina Country Music Association, And Voting Member of the CMA (Country music Association in Nashville.
